FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHY

What is the session fee?

The pre-paid session fee covers film, processing, the photographer’s time and expertise. This fee does not include a finished portrait unless it is part of a portrait package. It is due when you book your session.

What do I bring to the session?

Yourself. I recommend bringing several outfits and any items (such as sports equipment or musical instruments) that reflect your interests. And, of course, bring your favorite CD to play during the shoot!

What kinds of clothes should I bring to the session?

The most important thing to remember about your clothing selection is that you like what you have chosen. Don't bring something you hate just because you think it will photograph well. Bring a large variety—classic for Mom and Dad (for example, sweaters and long sleeve tops work the best) and casual for yourself. Consider summer and winter clothes. Better to bring too much and we can help you choose. Always bring your clothing on hangers. I will give you ideas for clothing that photographs best during your pre-portrait consultation.

Can I bring someone with me?

Absolutely! Sometimes it's more comfortable having someone with you. I also welcome you to bring a friend to join you in buddy shot or two. I offer a Buddy Special—schedule your sitting with a friend and you both get your sitting fees for half price or, if you are buying a package, you each get 24 free wallets.

What about blemishes, facial lines, glasses and braces?

Retouching is always included, which means removing blemishes and facial lines. Braces can be a special memory but if you would rather forget them, we have the answer. You can come with your braces and for a small fee, computer digital imaging can remove them from your final portraits. Wear your contacts if you have them. If you wear glasses, we suggest you make an appointment with your optometrist to remove the lenses from your frames, or borrow a pair of frames like yours without the lenses. This eliminates glass glare and makes your portraits much better. Artwork can remove the glare, but there is a fee.

What if I like different poses than my parents?

No problem! Each of your photographs will be completely different. So when you choose your portraits you won't be limited to just one. Unlike with other studios, you can select different poses for each print (except wallets need to be ordered in blocks of at least 8)—so you can get what you want, and your parents can get what they want.

How soon are my portraits ready?

Fast! Your images will be ready for viewing in 7-10 days after your session date. Your order is ready within 2 to 3 weeks. I will call you to let you know your order is ready for pickup. Keep in mind, when booking your portrait session, it could take about 3 weeks to get into the studio. Call early!

What if it rains?
If you choose an outdoor style and the weather spoils the session, we'll do the studio portraits and reschedule your outdoor session. Most of the time we will still be able to photograph you outdoors.
